Tales and Tastes from the Bog

Please join us this Sunday 1st Oct 2-5pm in the Old Schoolhouse, Rathangan Co. Kildare for an afternoon of sharing bog stories, plant lore, the makings of an 1812 Bog Map, and past times, as we weave connections between us and our nearby peatlands.

Tea from wild plants, chats about old dairy ways, weaving with natural materials, making drawings, looking at the biodiversity on our doorstep – the afternoon will hold something for everyone.

This event is the first of a rotating series of sessions happening near Ballydermot Bog, Rathangan, Co, Kildare, Girley Bog, Kells Co. Meath and Drummin Bog, St. Mullins, Co. Carlow.

The three peatland sites and the three artists involved are part of a wider climate action project, Gnáthóga Nádúrtha/Natural Habitats. Funded by the Arts Council Invitation to Collaboration Scheme, and led out by Carlow Arts Services together with Meath Arts Services and Kildare Arts Services.

The next event will be in Drummond Hall, Co. Carlow early November and Kells Co. Meath dates tbc.

Time: 2 – 5pm Sunday 1st October

Where: The Old Schoolhouse, Rathangan Eircode – R51 ET25
