Ecological Vision and Values at Drummin Bog: Nurturing Conscience, Creativity & Community
The Drummin Bog Project is guided by ecological vision and principles that help us care for people, place and future generations.
These principles and values arise from community experience, local culture, and global and national frameworks, such as the Earth Charter and Leave No Trace Ireland.
Leave No Trace Ireland
‘At the heart of Leave No Trace
are seven principles based on
an abiding respect for nature,
culture and people.’

Leave No Trace is Ireland’s only Outdoor Ethics Education Programme designed to promote and inspire responsible outdoor recreation. The Drummin Bog Project became a Community Member of Leave No Trace in 2026.
Techniques designed to minimise the environmental and social impacts in these areas are incorporated in and promoted by the national Leave No Trace education programme as the following seven principles:
- Plan Ahead and Prepare
- Be Considerate of Others
- Respect Farm Animals and Wildlife
- Travel and Camp Responsibly
- Leave What You Find
- Dispose of Waste Properly
- Protect Nature from Fire
The Drummin Bog Project supports the annual #LoveThisPlace Leave No Trace Annual Campaign.
