Drummin Bog Project Part of First Carlow Climate Action Week
The Drummin Bog Committee recently hosted a guided walk and talk at Drummin Bog as part of County Carlow’s inaugural Carlow Climate Action Week 2024.
As the only remaining raised bog in Carlow and the Southeast of Ireland, restoring Drummin Bog is crucial to transforming this area into a carbon sink, while raising awareness of bog restoration’s importance in climate action.

We were delighted that on Friday 11 Oct 2024, Minister Malcolm Noonan invited a senior Regional National Park and Wildlife Service NPWS Advisor Ciara O’Mahony and new Local South East NPWS Ranger, Darragh Morrissey, who begins his role in January 2025 to visit and hear about the Drummin Bog Project, in South Carlow.
