CREATIVE DRUMMIN Banner Project (Phase 1)
– an exhibition and schedule of supporting events – will be happening in Drummond Hall (beside Drummond Church, near St. Mullins, South
on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th October 2021
UCC/Wet Futures paleo-archaeologists Ben Gearey and Rosie Everett carried out peat and pollen surveys during July 2021 and both will be returning to present their findings.
There will be carbon dating results, historical timelines, visual material and chats about deep peat in Drummond Hall.
The historical wood wright Eoin Donnelly will give a demo;
and you can learn about birds and how to install an owl nesting box with Mick Wright of BirdWatch Ireland.
Tours will happen on Drummin Bog, including Dr. Fiona MacGowan leading a talk on Drummin Bog’s very special ecology.
Nearby schools and community groups will be visiting on the Friday.
Walks and talks are scheduled for the Saturday.
